Introduction

Vast Discovery is a media discovery platform designed to help users explore books, films, music, and trending titles in a more intuitive way. The problem: Discovery products often feel noisy or generic, making it hard for people to find content that matches their taste quickly. What I delivered: • Search-first discovery flow • Curated browse surfaces for featured and trending media • Clean visual browsing patterns for faster exploration • Product direction that keeps content discovery simple and engaging

The Challenge

Media platforms often fail on one basic thing: discovery feels overloaded. Core issues: • Too many entry points create decision fatigue • Search and browse patterns are visually inconsistent • Users struggle to move from curiosity to content quickly • Trending and featured items are not always prioritized clearly The goal: Create a discovery experience that feels rich, quick, and easy to scan from the very first interaction.

Market Context

The media and entertainment space is filled with catalog-heavy experiences that can feel overly broad or slow to navigate. Market gap: • Users want fast, low-friction exploration • Discovery needs to feel personal without being complicated • Curation and browsing must work together, not compete Positioning: Vast Discovery addresses this by designing a search-first, content-led discovery experience that helps users quickly find what matters without sacrificing visual appeal or breadth of media.

The Solution

The product is organized around a simple, modern discovery flow: 1. Search: Fast access to media discovery from the start. 2. Browse by Category: Clear discovery lanes for content types and interests. 3. Trending & Featured: Surface popular and relevant picks to reduce friction. 4. Exploration: Keep the experience visual and lightweight so users can move naturally from browsing to interest. Visual system: Clear cards, strong imagery, clean spacing, and focused category grouping help the experience feel active and intuitive while reducing visual noise.
